Tarkka instructions
Tarkka frontpage
The Finnish Environment Institute’s (Syke) satellite observation service Tarkka is an open service for viewing satellite observations. Different sections of the service can be accessed through the tabs at the top of the page. What’s up (Figure 1, highlights) is the default view in the interface. The actual map view which contains the majority of the data can be found in the top bar as Map viewer. Map viewer displays the latest true-color images as well as the basic functions of the interface, such as data selection menu (top left corner), data view menu (left side), and calendar menu (top rigth corner).
The Tarkka interface is updated periodically. After these updates the interface may appear incomplete, or some part of the data may not be visible. If this happens, try refreshing the interface in the browser (ctrl+F5) or clear the browser cache (Options/Settings → Privacy&Security→ History → Clear History).
Information about Tarkka updates is presented to users through a light, pink banner that appears at the top of the page.
