GIS-Datasets

In the Tarkka, you can select several essential vector datasets to display alongside satellite observations. These can be chosen from the accordion menu under the Regional boundaries. Content of the dataset menu varies between different themes, here are listed datasets available in the Water Quality - theme.

Vector datasets (line vector data)

Regional Boundaries: Activate from the accordion menu, and they appear on top of satellite/background map datasets.

  • Reference station areas: Vesla reference stations are used to generate time series of satellite observations and in-situ measurements
  • WFD Water bodies (Finland): Water Framework Directive (VPD/WFD) water formations from coastal and lake areas
  • Drainage basins (Finland)
  • Nature reserves
  • Sentinel-2 tiling grid: MGRS grid of Sentinel-2 data
  • HELCOM off-shore subbasins
  • Finnish border and coastline
  • Baltic Sea coastline
